RICHMOND — The town’s police department has rescheduled Sunday’s bicycle rodeo because of a dreary weather forecast.

The Youth Bike Rodeo is now scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, at the Richmond Police Department at the corner of High and Gardiner streets.

The free event will offer safety programs, such as helmet adjustments and a maintenance checks — including minor repairs and adjustments — and games, such as a bounce house and face painting. There also will be a bike skills and obstacle course, raffles, hot dogs, chips and drinks and lessons on how to ride.

Pittston Town Office election-only June 12

PITTSTON — The Town Office, 38 Whitefield Road, will be open for elections only from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 12 and closed for regular business.

The Select Board will meet at 6 p.m. June 13 at at the Town Office.

Farmingdale’s Keene gets CU position

FARMINGDALE — Kylie Keene, who grew up in town, was recently hired as the new spokeswoman for the Young & Free Maine, the Maine Credit Unions organization youth outreach effort.

Keene, 22, won the post after a search of 18- to 25-year-olds throughout the state, according to a press release from the organization. The position includes a year-long contract with paid salary and benefits.

She will serve as a reporter and advocate for her age group, attending events and creating daily online content, including blog articles and videos.
