FAYETTE — Abigail Hodgkins, 11, of Fayette, recently got her wish to visit Caribbean vacation destination Belize through UnitedHealthcare and the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Hodgkins, who has Leukemia, requested to visit Belize because she wanted to see the rain forest, the Mayan Ruins, and go zip-lining and snorkeling, according to a press release. She is very interested in animals there and expressed interest in becoming a wildlife biologist concentrating on endangered species, the release stated.

She and her family traveled to Belize for a one-week vacation mid-May. Volunteers from UnitedHealthcare and Make-A-Wish Maine sent the family off with a party, and travel goodie-bags.
