FARMINGTON — Shannon Haines recently received the 2012 Downtown Visionary of the Year award at the 12th annual Maine Downtown Conference at the University of Maine at Farmington’s Nordica Auditorium.

Haines is executive director of Waterville Main Street and as director of the Maine International Film Festival. She received the award for innovative leadership and efforts in numerous areas over nine years to revitalize downtown Waterville. The Downtown Visionary award was one of 14 presented.
