I wanted to comment on the Memorial Day tribute in an advertisement on pages A4 and A5 in the May 28 Kennebec Journal.

I appreciate the tribute, as I’m sure other military veteran readers of your paper do. I do, however, question the photo you chose of the aircraft formation.

I assume the tribute was to veterans of the US military and wonder why you didn’t publish a photo of a US military aerial demonstration team.

I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure the photo is of the Canadian Forces Snow Birds aerial demonstration team. I would think that a photo of the US Air Force Thunderbirds or the US Navy Blue Angels would have been a more appropriate choice for the tribute to the US Armed Forces.

Perhaps next year, your paper can choose a photo having more to do with the US military.
