WATERVILLE — The Waterville Senior High School girls tennis team shut out Mount Desert Island, winning 5-0, to earn a return trip to the Eastern Maine Class B final, on Saturday.

No. 1 Waterville improves to 14-0 and advances to play in the regional final at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Colby College. No. 5 MDI ends the season 11-3.

Olivia Lopes rallied at No. 2 singles for Waterville to beat Julia Christie 4-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6). College O’Donnell beat Meg Clark, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, and Jayme Saulter won 6-1, 6-3 over Mia Musetti at No. 3.

In doubles play, Lauren Hallenbeck and Emily Dufour beat Madeline Cook and Caroline Bronits, 6-2, 6-0 and Brittany Saulter and Melanie Bureau beat Dylan Stillman and Allie Stanley 6-2, 6-3.

Western C girls

No. 1 Hall-Dale 4, No. 5 Lisbon 1: Wendy Goldman and Clio Barr won at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively and the Bulldogs won both doubles matches to earn a win over Lisbon in the Western C semifinals in Farmingdale.

No. 1 Hall-Dale improves to 14-0 and advances to play No. 6 Waynflete in the regional final Wednesday at Bates College. No. 5 Lisbon ends the season 9-5.

Goldman beat Sarah Giraldo 6-2, 6-3, while Barr beat Nikkole Gardiner 6-1, 6-2. In doubles, Jana Parsons and Nicole Pelletier beat Bryanna Sult and Cheyanne Cameron 6-2, 6-0 and Anais Truman and Maura Stottler beat Kiaya McBride and Tabitha Porter 6-1, 6-0.

Lisbon’s only win was at No. 3 singles, where Nicole Jones beat Shelby McGibney, 6-2, 6-0.
