PORTLAND — Seventh-seeded Messalonskee took advantage of five yellow cards issued to No. 2 Portland and upset the Bulldogs, 9-7, in overtime Tuesday at Fiztpatrick Stadium.

“It doesn’t hurt to have a two-player advantage at the end of the game,” Messalsonkee coach Ashley Pullen said. “I kept telling our players to maintain their composure. Also our (player to player) defense was very effective.”
