MADISON — Emily McKenney pitched a no-hitter and drove in four runs as the Madison Area Memorial High School softball team beat Wiscasset 22-0 in a Western Maine Class C regional quarterfinal Thursday.

No. 1 Madison improves to 15-3 and advances to play No. 4 Dirigo in the semifinals Saturday. No. 8 Wiscasset ends the season at 8-8.

McKenney struck out four and walked two to earn her 15th win of the season. She also had three singles.

Nathalie Michaud added three singles for Madison, while Erika Parker had two singles and a double, Kayla Belanger a single and a double, and Courtney Taylor two singles.

Eastern B softball

No. 6 Nokomis 3, No. 3 Medomak Valley 2, 9 innings: Taylor Lovley doubled home Becky Orcutt in the top of the ninth and the Warriors held on to upset the Panthers in Waldoboro.

Orcutt singled twice and tripled for Nokomis (13-5). Winning pitcher Sara Packard allowed six hits and struck out eight.

Medomak Valley (14-3) nearly tied the game in the bottom of the ninth. A walk and a single put runners on first and third with one out, but Packard induced a ground ball and second baseman Megan Perry looked the runner back to third and threw to first for the out. Packard then got the next out to end the game.

Hannah Marks had two singles for Medomak Valley. Desiree Benner allowed five hits and struck out seven.

Eastern A softball

No. 3 Bangor 6, No. 6 Skowhegan 5, 9 innings: Annie Guare singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Rams over the Indians in Bangor.

Carly Cosgrove led off the ninth with a double. The Rams (12-5) loaded the bases with one out and Guare hit a fly ball over the drawn-in outfield.

Shelby Obert hit a leadoff homer for the Indians (10-7). Skowhegan trailed 5-2 entering the seventh, but tied the score with three runs, the last coming on a two-out RBI single by Mikayla Fitzmaurice.

Kaitlyn Therriault, Amanda Johnson, and Taylor Johnson all had two hits for Skowhegan.

Western B baseball

No. 3 John Bapst 6, No. 6 Winslow 2: The Crusaders scored three runs in the third inning and three more in the fourth to earn an Eastern B quarterfinal win over the Black Raiders at Husson University in Bangor.

Shaun Curran earned the win for John Bapst (13-4), which will play No. 2 Waterville in the semifinals Saturday.

Winslow (11-7) scored a pair of runs in the sixth inning. Dylan Hapworth tripled and drove in a run. Mike McLaughlin also drove in a run for the Black Raiders.
