LEWISTON — Luke Cote struck out 12 and allowed two hits to lead the Lewiston High School baseball team past Erskine 1-0 in an Eastern A semifinal game Saturday afternoon.
The second-seeded Blue Devils (15-3) will play No. 4 Messalonskee (13-5) in the regional final Tuesday in Augusta.
“They got the big hit when they had to,” Erskine coach Lars Jonassen said. “Cote kept us off balance.”
Cote delivered the only run he would need with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first inning.
No. 6 Erskine, which was held to just two hits, finished 11-7.
Tom Grady struck out seven and allowed two hits in relief of Tyler Belanger to lead the Eagles.
