GEARY, New Brunswick — A postponement and an early morning drive to Canada still couldn’t slow Johnny Clark at Speedway 660 on Sunday.
Clark, of Farmingdale, won a Pro All Stars Series North 200-lap feature a day after track officials had postponed the race because of rain.
It’s the third consecutive 200-lap victory at the track for Clark, the four-time defending PASS North champ.
“I like the track and the track likes me,” he said. “We always love going to victory lane.”
Clark has won two of the four PASS North points races.
“We’re doing well,” he added. “We’re plugging away.”
The race Sunday featured a 10-minute intermission after 100 laps, in which cars were allowed to pit and change right side tires.
The break allowed Clark and his team to fix a mechanical problem that threatened to derail his race. Clark then led the final 100 laps to secure the checkered flag.
“We’re battling,” Clark said. “We needed that break. It really helped us. If it was a normal 150-lap race, I’m not so sure we would’ve finished.”
Travis Benjamin finished second while Farmington native Cassius Clark came in third in the 19-car field.
