Results were unavailable late Tuesday in the race for the House District 84 Democratic nomination. Candidates were Edward Finch, of Hinckley, and Karen Kusiak, of Fairfield.

House District 84 comprises Fairfield, Rome and Smithfield.

Finch, 69, said he wants to grow the local economy by supporting job training through vocational programs and continuing education.

Kusiak, 59, a part-time Colby College teacher, said equal funding across all Maine public school systems is a priority.

The winner faces Rep. John Picchiotti, R-Fairfield.
