WALES — The $17.6 million budget for the 2012–2013 school year budget won approval 438-376 in Regional School Unit 4, despite being rejected by Wales voters.

Here is a vote breakdown by town:

Litchfield  196 yes; 190 no;

Sabattus  178 yes; 115 no;

Wales        64 yes;    71 no.

“I’m not surprised,” said Superintendent James Hodgkin on Wednesday.  “I’m happy.” He added that the close vote in two towns “does speak to the fact that we have more work to do.”
