Karen Kusiak beat Edward Finch 215-192 for the House District 84 Democratic nomination Tuesday.

In Fairfield, Kusiak won 171-152; in Rome Finch won 25-24; and in Smithfield Kusiak won 20-15.

Kusiak, 59, Fairfield, a part-time Colby College teacher, said equal funding across all Maine public school systems is a priority.

She faces Rep. John Picchiotti, R-Fairfield, in November.
