NEW YORK — The Fresh Air Fund has provided free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. Children are boys and girls, ages 6-18. Children on first-time visits are 6-12 years old and stay for one to two weeks. Children who are re-invited by host families can continue with the program through age 18.
