BOOTHBAY HARBOR — An annual festival celebrating Maine’s historic windjammer fleet and rich maritime heritage is kicking off in Boothbay Harbor.
The 50th annual Windjammer Days festival gets under way Sunday. It continues for four days before wrapping up Wednesday.
A record 11 windjammers will be on display when they arrive in the harbor for the final day of the event.
Besides the windjammers, the festival features an antique boat parade, a street parade, fireworks over the harbor, concerts, arts and crafts, food and more.
