BELGRADE — Belgrade Community Center for All Seasons offers the following camps and programs beginning today.
Camp Golden Pond is for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade. Participants will spend their days swimming, playing games, doing crafts, going on field trips, according to a news release. There will be visits by Chewonki, Northern Star Planetarium, Mr. Harley, The Mad Scientists and others.
Camp Loon and the Compass Project Boat Building Camp is for teens in sixth through ninth grades. These camps are designed to strengthen their teamwork and leadership skills, according to the release. Camp Loon teens will be able to earn their First Aid/CPR certification, attend overnights and field trips starting today. Compass Project Boat Building Campers will work together to build a Peace Canoe the week of July 23.
Adults can start the week with some ping pong competition or relaxing with yoga on Mondays. Tuesdays bring a chance for adults to go out in the center’s canoes and kayaks for morning paddle. In the evening, join the zumba group for a fast-paced workout. Adult basketball on Wednesday and Sunday nights also is offered. Thursday is filled with senior water aerobics in the morning and bridge in the afternoon. There is also Latin babies, story time and toddler time for the youngsters Thursday mornings. And, parents, their babies and toddlers can enjoy salsa dancing, a story and craft provided by the Belgrade Public Library and free playtime in the gym. Volleyball is offered in the evening.
Each afternoon from 3 to 5, swimmers can visit the in-ground pool for a community swim, as well as swim lessons on Thursday afternoons.
The Belgrade Center for All Seasons also is a facility to rent for someone’s next birthday or anniversary party, family reunion or business meeting.
