PITTSFIELD — An Owl Prowl program for children of all ages will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 5, at the Pittsfield Public Library. The L.C. Bates Museum will introduce Maine’s owls. Participants can learn about the owls of Maine, hunt for prey, and dissect an owl pellet.

Storytime is set for 10:15 a.m. Tuesday. Children can hear stories about owls, and participate in songs and games.

Children in grades first through sixth are can become a Book Buddy. Book Buddies meet Tuesdays at noon. Children read with a partner, participate in a literacy activity, and earn vouchers donated by McDonald’s and Pizza Hut of Newport.
