WATERVILLE — Jory Humphrey had a pair of RBI singles to help South China Subway sink Gardiner 6-1 in an American Legion Zone 2 game Thursday at Colby College.

Shyler Scates had a double and a single for South China (2-2). Scates also scored two runs. Donald Camp earned the victory.

Dennis Meehan had a double and a single to lead Gardiner (3-2).

Post 51 8, Franklin County 6: Reid Nutter overcame a slow start to post a pitching win against Franklin County in Zone 2 action. Nutter allowed three first-inning runs then pitched into the seventh inning where he was relieved by Devin Warren. Matt Woodbury led the winners with a pair of doubles while Blair Blaisdell and Sam Dexter each added a pair of hits. Post 51 is 4-1, Franklin is 1-4.

Junior Legion

Somerset 19, Bethel 2, 5 innings: Winning pitcher Cody Soucier had a triple and two singles to lead Somerset (2-3) to the victory.

Somerset had 17 hits. Dylan Belanger added a pair of triples and Matt Turner had two singles and a double.

Cody Laweryson had three singles and Ethan Liberty added a pair for Somerset as well.

Bethel dropped to 0-6.
