NEW LONDON, N.H. — Kayla R. Bronson of China was recently named to 2012 spring semester dean’s list at Colby-Sawyer College.

CROOKSTON, Minn. — Jessica L. Charles of Belgrade Lakes was recently named to 2012 spring semester chancellor’s list at the University of Minnesota. Her major is animal science.

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Stephanie Whitten of Waterville was recently named to the 2012 spring semester dean’s list at Sacred Heart University.

WATERVILLE — Waterville was awarded a $50,000 Creative Communities Economic Development Grant earlier this year. The Grant is the largest amount offered by the Maine Arts Commission. Through the grant, the Commission looks to support communities that already harbor vibrant arts and cultural non-profit organizations in order to bolster collaboration and cohesive expansion.

WATERVILLE — Spectrum Generations Muskie Center will offer the following June day trips: Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay, June 16,; DEW Animal Kingdom in Mount Vernon, June 22; and Windjammer Days Festival in Boothbay Harbor, June 27.

FARMINGTON — The University of Maine at Farmington’s Upward Bound program was recently awarded funding for the next five years by the U.S. Department of Education. The annual grant of $353,456 will be used to help low-income, first-generation students from central Maine prepare for and succeed in post-secondary education.
