AUGUSTA — A number of people were sentenced this week in separate cases heard in Kennebec County Superior Court:

* Matthew J. Carter, 24, of Sidney, operating under the influence Oct. 30, 2011, in Augusta; 48-hour jail sentence, $700 fine, 90-day license suspension.

* Michael E. Grant, 28, of Litchfield, theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and violating condition of release March 9 in Waterville; seven-month jail sentence, $400 fine.

* Henry H. Leathers, 44, of Augusta, negotiating a worthless instrument March 3 in Augusta; $500 fine.

* Daniel M. Jackson, 30, of Augusta, aggravated forgery, April 14, 2011, in Litchfield; three-year jail sentence, all but 51 days suspended, one year probation concurrent with a Sagadahoc County sentence for a similar offense.

* Daniel L. Nelson, 30, of Gardiner, burglary of a motor vehicle May 13, 2007, in Farmingdale; 60-day jail sentence, $750 restitution.

* Aaron B. Ouellette, 37, of Litchfield, operating vehicle without a license March 21 in Monmouth; $250 fine.

* Katelyn S. Powers, 25, of South Portland, operating under the influence March 10 in Gardiner; 96-hour alternative sentencing program, $500 fine, 90-day license suspension.

* Joseph Forest Tilly, 30, of Albion, assault April 27 in Albion and violating condition of release and violating a protective order May 16 in Winslow; 90-day jail sentence, $300 fine.
