WATERVILLE — Jake Dexter had nine hits and Post 51 pitchers combined to hold Subway to three runs on seven hits on its way to a doubleheader sweep in American Legion Zone 2 baseball action Saturday at Thomas College.

Dexter had six hits and scored five runs as Post 51 won 10-3. He added three singles in the second game, a 3-0 Post 51 victory.

Also in the first game, Sam Dexter had five RBIs for Post 51. Isiah Fleming pitched a complete game, allowing three runs (2 earned) on four hits, while striking out eight and walking five.

Ryan Pulver doubled for Subway in Game 1.

In Game 2, Reid Nutter had a double and a single for Post 51. Blair Blaisdell pitched five innings, allowing two hits, while striking out six and walking two. Jake Dexter pitched two scoreless to secure the win.

Shyler Scates took the loss for Subway, allowing three runs on seven hits.

Gardiner 4-6, Madison 3-3: Spencer Allen had a home run in the first game, then added a double and a single in the second game as Gardiner swept a doubleheader against Madison.

In the first game, Jensen Orewiler added two singles and Josh Martin pitched a complete game to earn the win for Gardiner.

In the second game, Kyle Fletcher had a double and a single for Gardiner (9-2).

Junior Legion

Somerset 12-12, Gray/New Gloucester 2-1: Somerset scored 10 runs in the first two innings of the second game and swept a doubleheader with Gray/New Gloucester.

In the first game, Trey Michonski tripled and pitched a complete game for Somerset. Derek LeBlanc and Dylan Belanger each added two singles.

In the second game, Belanger went the distance to earn the win, while Dallon Stevens doubled for Somerset. Seth Malloy, Matt Turner and Stevens each had two hits.

Fairfield Post 14 2-10, Cumberland 0-1: Joel Leclair hit a two-run double with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift Fairfield Post 14 to the win in Game 1 of a doubleheader sweep against Cumberland in Fairfield.

Alex Chesley add a double in Game 1 for Fairfield Post 14 (9-1). Chesley then had two singles and an RBI in the second game. Cole Robinson chipped in with a double and two RBIs.
