The state wants business owners to take a 40 question survey that will help shape government policies moving forward, the Department of Economic and Community Development announced Tuesday.

The survey asks businesses to rate challenges from attracting and retaining employees to overall infrastructure needs. It also asks about workforce development, regulation, workers compensation and marketing.

“Businesses are being given a unique opportunity to influence Maine’s future business climate and their very own profitability,” DECD Commissioner George Gervais said in a statement.

The 2012 Maine Business Survey can be found at www.maine.gov/decd/survey/.
