Sen. Susan Collins has done three things within the last year that I believe shows that she does not represent Maine people or Americans.

* She voted for provisions in the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2012 that would allow the military to detain any American anywhere in the world indefinitely without legal representation and without seeing a day in a U.S. court, only on suspicion of being connected to terrorism somehow.

This begs the question of who has this suspicion, how reliable is it, and whether it is true. I believe that this is unconstitutional and un-American.

* I believe that Collins also is trying to get legislation passed that would not let Mainers or Americans know how much money corporations give to people in Congress.

* Collins also recently voted to not allow Mainers or Americans know if the food they are buying contains genetically engineered food.
