EyeSite Optical’s stores in South Portland, Waterville and Bangor closed in the past week, leaving customers without warning or their eyeglasses.
Phone numbers for the three stores have been disconnected and the company’s website, www.eyesiteopticalmaine.com, failed to work today.
One customer, David Wallace of Gorham, said he ordered glasses three weeks ago from the South Portland store at 343 Gorham Road. He paid about $400 for the glasses.
When he tried to call the store last week to check on the status of his order, there was no answer. In recent days, the phone number has been disconnected.
“I would like a refund if she is not going to provide the glasses I ordered,” Wallace said.
Wallace said he contacted the South Portland police and the Better Business Bureau.
