FARMINGTON — Mt. Blue High School graduate Nicholas Searles was recently awarded the Three Rivers Orthopedics and Joseph J. Caldwell, M.D., Scholarship. The award, available for the first time, was presented to Searles at Mt. Blue High School Awards Night.
The $5,000 scholarship was awarded to the student athlete who excelled in the face of adversity. This selection was based in part upon Caldwell’s experiences with Searles as a player on the football team, as Searles was dealing with a number of injuries throughout his high school career, according to a news release.

Searles plans to attend Washington County Community College in the fall to major in heavy equipment maintenance technology.
