LIBERTY — The Sheepscot Wellspring Land Alliance will celebrate its annual Midsummer Celebration Saturday at 406 Halldale Road in Montville. The celebration will feature two options for exploring nature followed by a potluck picnic with live music and the summer lottery drawing.

The event will include a walk and talk examining landscape and language with Kerry Hardy, ecologist, linguist eco-historian, and author of Notes on a Lost Flute: A Field Guide to the Wabanaki. As participants walk the Sheepscot River, Hardy will share and discuss the Algonquin names for the plants, animals and landscape features that participants encounter, offering a glimpse of the world as the Wabanaki ancestors saw it.
