WATERVILLE — The Waterville Police Department recently announced its being awarded a grant from the Maine Bureau of Highway Safety to conduct extra patrols and roadblocks during July and August for the purposes of detecting and removing intoxicated motorists from city streets.

The 2012 High Visibility Impaired Driving project will fund approximately 13 single officer directed patrol details, and approximately three roadblocks.
