FALMOUTH — Two amateur golfers in Maine have defied 17 million-to-1 odds by scoring holes-in-one on the same hole while playing in the same foursome.
The Portland Country Club in Falmouth says Matt Parker of Falmouth hit a hole-in-one Tuesday on the 140-yard fourth hole. After the second golfer in the foursome put his ball within a foot of the cup, Travis Ferrante of Portland followed with a hole-in-one of his own.
It was Parker’s first ace, and the second for Ferrante.
According to the National Hole-in-One Registry, the odds of two players from the same foursome acing the same hole are 17 million to 1.
