I strongly agree with Don G. Harris (letter, “It’s sheer lunacy to build station next to tracks,”July 8) on his thoughtful comments concerning Waterville’s actions and results over the past years.
Harris is, of course, “bucking a strong wind” when he strives for “common sense,” as it hasn’t been popular in Waterville in recent times.
A new police station in a flood zone trapped by a freight train is an example. The opportunity to use the Sentinel’s building, the newest and finest building in the city because “it does not fit our plans” is interesting. I wonder if anyone made any effort to “fit our plans” into the building? Any effort to save costs?
There are no greater spenders than those using someone else’s money.
