Supreme Court Justice John Roberts said in a decision, “It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”
This certainly rings true here in Maine and its choice of Paul LePage as governor.
He still has not learned to engage his brain before opening his mouth. His offhanded remarks now consistently appear in the national news and have tarnished our image.
His unthinking remarks have ranged from the murals, women growing beards, the IRS and Gestapo, to state workers and teacher corruption and a dozen other headline-grabbing remarks.
We are looked at as a backward, ignorant place thanks to a leader who portrays that.
Hopefully, this can be fixed at the next election.
