WINSLOW — Police as of Thursday afternoon had not charged a Winslow man who was taken into custody Wednesday after an overnight standoff with law enforcement that ended peacefully.

Matthew Savinelli, 34, of 1 Bellevue St., Apartment 3, was taken to MaineGeneral Medical Center’s Thayer Campus after the standoff.

Police said they were contacted Tuesday to check on Savinelli’s welfare and during the standoff, he threatened to shoot officers.
