I am commenting on the column by J.P. Devine, “Couple joins ‘Gayby Boom'” on July 1, about a lesbian who is having a girl baby.

Devine, who has called himself an atheist or agnostic, seems to be quite excited by this farce and seems to think everybody else is also, especially her teacher-partner.

Devine’s column seems to be one of the many plugs for the same-sex marriage vote this fall by the Donald Sussman-owned Kennebec Journal and Morning Sentinel.

There is one fact Devine doesn’t mention. Everybody has a father and a mother. God designed marriage to be this way. Unless the father is disclosed to this girl, she will never become “daddy’s little girl,” he will not escort her down the aisle at her wedding, give her fatherly advice through life or be a role model to her.

I wonder if this will be a deliberate attempt to deprive this little girl of the other half of her due inheritance.

God designed marriage between one man and one woman in Genesis 2:20-24 and God the Son, Jesus Christ, reiterated that fact in Matthew 19:4-6. Jesus said, “He which made them at the beginning made them male and female and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother and shall cleave to his wife and the twain shall be one flesh.”

This constitutes the basic family, the unit which has made our country the great country that it is.

The same-sex marriage vote this fall is not about marriage equality but a referendum about marriage perversion and approval of sexual perversion, which God, throughout the Bible, called sin.
