During his tenure, Gov. Paul LePage has called protesters who disagree with him “idiots,” called the NAACP a “special-interest group,” told women not to worry about growing “little beards,” and now has compared the IRS to the Gestapo.

Although LePage did not receive a majority of votes in the gubernatorial election, he is now the governor of Maine. That means he represents all Maine citizens, regardless of their race, religion, gender or political belief.

While he is certainly entitled to promote his political agenda, LePage should remember that he now serves all Maine citizens, and choose his words and actions appropriately.
