WINTHROP — Two local women were injured in a rollover accident on U.S. Route 202 Wednesday.
Kelley Harmon, 37, of Monmouth, was driving west on U.S. Route 202 when Judith Milbert, 69, of Greene, turned left from the eastbound lane of 202, attempting to enter Old Lewiston Road.
However, she pulled into Harmon’s path, and Harmon’s Chrysler van struck Milbert’s Izuzu Rodeo, which rolled over, according to Officer John Hall.
Milbert had to be removed from the sport-utility vehicle by Winthrop firefighters with extrication equipment.
Winthrop Ambulance took both women to a hospital. Hall said both drivers were conscious.
Hall said no charges have been filed in the accident.
Traffic was detoured around the accident scene for about half an hour.
