Sean Siragusa, of Winthrop, removes a weather vane Thursday from atop a barn he is restoring in Monmouth.  The contractor is replacing the cornices on the 19th century structure and took down the wind-driven heron for repairs.  The weather vane will be replaced, Siragusa said, when the barn is painted.
