I am wondering why the City Council hasn’t seriously considered taking the old Boys/Girls Club building by eminent domain to use for the new police station?
The building has stood empty for many years, and no one has come close to buying it. It is an eyesore.
The location has access to both Main Street and College Avenue. The power/water infrastructure is already in place.
Why are we considering spending a half-million or more to buy other sites?
The Colby Circle site is the worst site imaginable. I drove past it recently and cannot imagine using it for police. Common sense doesn’t seem to be very common these days.
