RICHMOND — Replacement of a large culvert is scheduled to start Monday on Route 197 in town, about a quarter-mile west of High School Drive.
The work will require closing 300 to 400 feet on the route, according to a state Department of Transportation news release.
Signs will direct motorists coming from the interstate to go in the opposite direction to U.S. Route 201 and tale a two-mile detour. The route goes onto Langdon Road, then right onto Alexander Reed Road, which leads back to Route 197.
The project is expected to be done by Friday, Aug. 10.
