We recently held the first meeting for a neighborhood watch group in Clinton. We were fortunate to have Colleen Lachowicz, a candidate for state Senate, attend the meeting. As a social worker, she shared knowledge about resources we were unaware of, and as a candidate, she expressed genuine concern for our small community.
Teenagers in our community have little to do, and we have a small police force. The combination has been a cause of more juvenile offenses, so we formed a program to both assist the local police and to provide some solutions our local youth. We are interested in starting a local teen center. Lachowicz has committed to be there for us every step of the way.
Lachowicz has spent a lot of time in Clinton reaching out and learning what local residents find important. Rural Maine needs help too.
