I agree with Mimosa Mack (letter, July 26): There are many thoughtless, impatient drivers on the road.
I have a suggestion that might work if she or anyone encounters another turtle crossing the road.
When someone encounters such a situation, they should stop in the center of the road and put on their vehicle’s emergency flashers. This may not stop all the nonthinkers, but most will realize there is something ahead that requires them to stop, at least temporarily.
