PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — A New Hampshire psychologist has been accused of running a prostitution business out of his apartment in Portsmouth.

Alexander Marino’s arrest on Tuesday brings to three the number of people arrested in connection with the alleged prostitution operation.

Police Capt. Corey MacDonald says police started investigating allegations involving different women bringing various men from the pool area of Marino’s apartment complex to the apartment for short periods of time. Officers conducting surveillance also believed drugs were being used. Marino also was charged with marijuana possession.

Marino, who has a practice in Exeter, specializes in post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, panic disorder and insomnia. It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer.
