AUGUSTA — A Run for the Trees cross country 5K race through the fields and forests of Viles Arboretum will take place Sept. 8 at the arboretum, 153 Hospital St.

Walkers are welcome. Day care and nature activities for children will be provided.

Smoked maple chicken will be served following the race. There will be music, a silent auction and prizes for leading times in each class. To register, visit www.runreg.com.
