Environmental Health employee hurt in car crash

OAKLAND — A state employee was injured in a two-car crash Wednesday morning.

Maurice Anderson — a health inspector with the Department of Environmental Health — suffered injuries that were not life-threatening when the car he was driving was hit broadside by another car at the intersection of Fairfield Street and County Road, Detective Tracy Frost said.

The other driver, Leona LaBrick, 82, of Winslow, failed to stop at the intersection, Frost said.

“It’s a dangerous intersection,” he added.

“I’d say we have two or three serious accidents here every year.”
