ST. ALBANS — Construction on the Indian Bridge between Big and Little Indian Lake on Ripley Road will begin Wednesday, Sept. 5.

In order to prevent the bridge from becoming a public danger the road must be closed and the bridge be replaced. Construction will take approximately two weeks from start to finish. Traffic will be detoured on Routes 23 and 154, and there will be no through traffic. The dam on Big Indian Lake will be opened to lower the water level to better assist the construction crew. This will affect the water level around the camps and homes on the lake. The project is due to start after Labor Day and be complete by Nov. 1.
