WATERVILLE — Ross Donihue was recently awarded a 2013 National Geographic Young Explorers grant to map the site of the future Patagonia National Park in Chile. Located in the Aysen Region along the Argentine border, the future park forms a protected area the size of Yosemite National Park.
With the support of the park and the National Geographic grant, Donihue will create a “place-based portal” that communicates the park’s conservation-based mission and can be explored from anywhere in the world.
Donihue is the son of Susan MacKenzie and Michael Donihue, and a 2007 graduate of Waterville Senior High School.
