PORTLAND — The Portland Sea Dogs managed only three hits Sunday afternoon and dropped a 5-0 decision to the Reading Phillies at Hadlock Field.
The Sea Dogs, dressed in old-time baseball uniforms as part of their annual Field of Dream celebration, never got a runner past first base.
Portland started right-hander Allen Webster, one of five players obtained in the mega-trade that sent Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett and Carl Crawford to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Webster gave up five runs over five innings. He gave up seven hits, two walks, hit two batters and truck out five.
Ryan Pressly relieved Webster and pitched three perfect innings.
Webster was opposing his former teammate in the Dodgers’ minor league system, right-hander Ethan Martin, who the Phillies obtained in a trade for Shane Victorino.
Martin shut down the Sea Dogs with a two-hitter over seven innings. He struck out eight and walked none.
Portland (68-72) finishes its 2012 season at 1 p.m. today at Hadlock Field against the Phillies (75-66).
