We have now heard the party platforms for the two major candidates for president.

Unfortunately, neither candidate appears to be interested in a non-interventionist foreign policy. Both the Republicans and Democrats are seemingly ready to continue the same “nation building” Bush-era policies to greater or lesser degrees.

This country simply cannot afford, morally or financially, to continue being police force of the world.

As Martin Luther King Jr. once warned us, “… Don’t let anybody make you think that God chose America as his divine, messianic force to be a sort of policeman of the whole world. God has a way of standing before the nations with judgment, and it seems that I can hear God saying to America, ‘You’re too arrogant! And if you don’t change your ways, I will rise up and break the backbone of your power, and I’ll place it in the hands of a nation that doesn’t even know my name. Be still and know that I’m God.'”

It is time for the American people to do what is right. It is time to end the war in Afghanistan, end the “nation building” in Egypt, Syria etc. I can hear the war drums beating for Iran. Let’s stop this before it’s too late.
