I am the director of the Evening Sandwich Program, which operates out of the Universalist Unitarian Church on Silver Street in Waterville.
We serve a free evening take-out meal to anyone who comes through the door. Our funding comes from small grants and from private sources. Every little bit helps so much.
I was pleased recently to find in the mail box a check for $62.75 from Jesse Morris’ child care business on Central Avenue. Morris and her children had a lemonade stand this summer and decided to send us the money. She enclosed a photo of the kids who participated in the sale.
Big hearts come in little packages. Many thanks to everyone who can give back to the community. Every little bit really does help.
