New Balance provides many good jobs in our community, and its presence is important to our local economy.
Many people, however, don’t know about the role New Balance plays in the Healthy Kid Pack Project that began at North Elementary in Skowhegan.
New Balance provides funding for this program, and each week employees pack backpacks with healthy food, books promoting exercise and nutritional guidelines for students and parents. This program provides an incredible service in our community, and New Balance plays a big role in its success.
I also would like to express my appreciation to Rep. Jeff McCabe for his efforts to help keep New Balance in Skowhegan. His recent trip to Washington to advocate for our community shows his dedication to the people of Skowhegan. I hope others join me in supporting him at the polls this November.
