WINSLOW — A dog owner was summoned on five charges after his two dogs allegedly killed two geese and threatened a rooster and rabbit.

Raymond C. Gagne, 52, was summoned Friday on charges of keeping an animal that kills or injures, two counts of allowing a dog to be at large and two counts of keeping an unlicensed dog.

The dogs — a pit bull and a Rottweiler mix — got loose Friday afternoon from Gagne’s camp on North Pond Road and wandered to a home on nearby Perch Road, where they allegedly killed the animals. Before the dogs could kill any others, a woman at the home fired a warning shot with a shotgun and the dogs fled, Lt. Joshua Veilleux said.

The dogs returned to Gagne’s camp on their own accord, where police found them. Gagne was charged, but the dogs were left in his custody, Veilleux said.
