Two accidents occurred moments apart on the Gardiner Road. A 1995 Chevrolet 1500 being driven south by a 16-year-old Wilton boy failed to make a turn in the road after the truck’s brakes failed. The truck hit two utility poles and several small trees before rolling over and stopping on its roof. Moments later, a northbound 2005 GMC truck being driven by a 54-year-old Bath man struck a utility pole support cable that was hanging low in the road because of the first accident. The cable pulled the truck to the shoulder.

At 6:36 a.m., Stephen A. Wright, 31, of Augusta, was arrested on charges of violating conditions of release, domestic violence assault and obstructing the report of a crime by police responding to a complaint of disorderly conduct on Stewart Lane.

At 4:06 p.m., Myles Ace Cloutier, 20, of Augusta, was arrested on a probation hold and a charge of theft by receiving stolen property by police responding to a theft complaint at Reny’s on Water Street.

At 3:02 a.m., Derick L. Gray, 22, of North Monmouth, was arrested on a charge of operating under the influence on Old Lewiston Road.
