WATERVILLE — Lindsay Whitney scored 38 seconds into the game and the goal held up as the Nokomis field hockey team beat Waterville 1-0 in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B game Tuesday.

Kendra Underhill made seven saves for Nokomis (7-2-1), and back Taylor Shaw made a spectacular defensive save in the second half to preserve the lead and the shutout.

Valerie Spaulding had 10 saves for Waterville (6-5).

Skowhegan 9, Hampden 0: Makaela Michonski had three goals and three assists as the Indians cruised to a KVAC A win in Skowhegan.

Sarah Finnemore and Rylie Blanchet each added two goals for Skowhegan, which improves to 12-0-0. Renee Wright had a goal and an assist, while Brooke Michonski added one goal.

Katie Ross had 18 saves for Hampden Academy (2-10-0).

Mt. View 3, MCI 0: Three different players scored as the Mustangs beat the Huskies in a KVAC B game in Throndike.

Brittany Masessa and Anna Tsomides scored in the first half for Mt. View (8-3-0). Andrea Smith added a second half goal for the Mustangs, while Lauren Richards had two assists. Braley Leadbetter added an assist and Abbie Charrier made one save.

Courtney Sprague had 32 saves for MCI (3-8-0).

Erskine 2, Maranacook 0:
Ally Allen scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Eagles to the KVAC win in South China. Kaitly Sutter also scored for Erskine. Lexi Soucy made eight saves for Erskine (2-10-0) while Amber Ridlon stopped 20 shots for Maranacook (2-8-1).

Winslow 2, Oceanside 1: Sarah Wildes and Jenn Poulin scored as the Black Raiders beat the Mariners in a KVAC B game in Rockland.

Alli LeClair had a pair of assists for Winslow (10-2-0). Mackenzie Winslow added an assist and Alexis Lachance made six saves to earn the win.

Molly Mellor scored from Hannah Plourde for Oceanside (6-4-1). Zoey Proctor made 10 saves.
